Food local to Plum Island/Newburyport
Grocery Store
- Market Basket is a Massachusetts staple. It is about 20 mins from the house.
- Shaw’s also in Newburyport (more expensive)
- There is a small convenience store on Island (Plum Island Provisions) but items are limited and expensive.
Breakfast
- Abe’s Bagels is a Newburyport downtown must try, expect a line on the weekend.
- Angie’s is a classic diner type breakfast and lunch spot downtown Newburyport.
- Mad Martha’s is a great breakfast spot on Plum Island – expect a wait as well.
- Don’t forget to try our Massachusetts favorite Dunkin Donuts – we have 3 in NBPT alone
- There are multiple coffee shops Downtown as well if you like fancy coffee.
Lunch
- Don’t have many ideas for this, there are plenty of pizza and sandwich spots around town.
Dinner
- Bob Lobster is a nice spot right on the island; you can order take out or eat at a picnic table on the Marsh.
- The Park Lunch is a local for a casual meal.
- Agave is the spot if you want Mexican.
- Beach Coma – on Plum Island – casual place – becomes a night spot after dark
- The Deck in Salisbury (right over the bridge from Newburyport) is a great waterfront casual spot
